Terms of Service

The short version: use MoraFlow to learn, keep your account secure, don't abuse or copy the service, and understand that it's a learning tool provided as-is.
These terms are an agreement between you and MoraFlow (“MoraFlow”, “we”, “us”), currently operated by Mason Young. By creating an account or using moraflow.io, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use MoraFlow.
1. Who can use MoraFlow
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
2. Your account
- Give a real email address you can access, and keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Your username may be shown to other users (for example on the leaderboard). Don't choose one that is offensive, impersonates someone, or contains personal information you don't want public.
- Tell us at support@moraflow.io if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use bots, scripts or scrapers to access MoraFlow, or copy its word data, audio or content in bulk.
- Try to break, overload, or get around the security or limits of MoraFlow, or access other people's accounts.
- Cheat the leaderboard or XP system, or create accounts automatically.
- Use MoraFlow for anything illegal or harmful.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
4. MoraFlow's content
MoraFlow's software, design, audio recordings, lessons and exercises belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal learning. Some of the word and sentence data comes from open sources under their own licenses (such as JMdict and Kanjium under CC BY-SA 4.0, and Tatoeba under CC BY 2.0 FR); those licenses, listed on our Credits page, apply to that data, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under them.
5. Learning content and accuracy
We work hard to make MoraFlow's pitch-accent information, audio and feedback accurate, but pitch accent varies between speakers, regions and dictionaries, and the data and automatic grading can contain mistakes. MoraFlow is an educational tool, not an authority — use your judgment and other references too. If you find an error, we'd love to hear about it.
6. Changes to the service, and paid features
MoraFlow is currently free. We may add, change or remove features, and we may introduce paid plans in the future. We'll never charge you without your clear agreement: any paid plan will show its price and terms before you pay. We may also discontinue MoraFlow; if we do, we'll try to give reasonable notice.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using MoraFlow at any time and ask us to delete your account at support@moraflow.io. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons.
8. Disclaimers
MoraFlow is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that it will help you reach a particular level.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of MoraFlow. Our total liability for any claim relating to MoraFlow is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you; nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use MoraFlow after that means you accept the new terms.
